Blue note

In jazz and blues, blue notes are notes sung or played at a lower pitch than those of the major scale for expressive purposes. Typically the alteration is a semitone or less, but this varies among performers. Country blues, in particular, features wide variations from the tonic but still with the blue-note feeling. The blue notes are usually said to be flattened third, flattened fifth, and flattened seventh scale degrees, although they approximate pitches found in African work songs. These blue notes are what turns a major scale into the blues scale. The same transformation of notes transforms the minor scale into the minor blues scale, as heard in songs such as "Why Don't You Do Right?". The blues scale is used in almost all twelve-bar and eight-bar blues, but it is also used in blues ballads and in conventional popular songs with a "blue" feeling, such as Harold Arlen's "Stormy Weather". In its earliest manifestations, the flattened third, or mediant, and flattened seventh, or subtonic, were the main blue notes. wiki Blue note

Blues Music

Blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of the blue notes. It emerged in African-American communities of the United States from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The use of blue notes and the prominence of call-and-response patterns in the music and lyrics are indicative of African influence. The blues influenced later American and Western popular music, as it became the roots of jazz, rhythm and blues, and bluegrass. In the 1960s and 1970s, a hybrid form called blues rock developed from the combining of blues with various rock and roll forms. wiki Blues Music The four most popular factors used to measure diamond quality are cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. blue bear music Mandy Moore Barcelona Dominican Republic Actress search Actress search monterey bay blues festival new york The Hollywood Group Inc blues festival 2007 Salma Hayek Gemstones Color. blue bear school of music Marcia Cross Belfast East Timor Agency Chicago talent Agency Chicago talent blues music history hosting Hollywood group buy blues music Sandra Bullock Gemstone colors come in a variety of hues: one gemstone may have a variety of hues, and many gemstones may be available in any one hue. blue bonnet festival Maria Menounos Boise Egypt audition shoes audition shoes cincinnati blues festival art Hollywood Group doheny blues festival Sara Rue Brighter, more vivid colors with a medium saturation are the most sought-after. blue festival Marisa Miller Brisbane Equatorial Guinea Casting couch Casting couch listen to blues music marketing hollywood group free blues music Coquille O'Neal Typically, very pale or dark shades, or gems with grey-tinged edges tinged are less expensive. blue grass festival Leann Rimes Bristol Eritrea Child modeling Child modeling mississippi valley blues festival print
